* Demolition of Building 36 Scheduled to Start Middle to Late February * Handicapped Parking Spaces Relocated * NIH Shuttle Stop at Lincoln and Convent Relocated
The selective demolition of Building 36 will begin middle to late February with mass demolition commencing the beginning of May. The overall operation will last eight months and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2006.
In preparation of the demolition, fencing has been placed around Building 36 resulting in several changes to traffic and parking in the area.
Handicap Parking: The handicapped parking spaces previously located in the circular drive servicing both Buildings 36 and 40 have been relocated to Convent Drive along the curbside adjacent to Building 40.
Shuttle: The NIH shuttle shelter previously located at the corner of Convent Drive and Lincoln Drive has been moved to the corner of Convent Drive in front of Building 40. For passenger and vehicular safety, Priority-One Services will no longer board or discharge passengers at the corners of Convent Drive and Lincoln Drive.
During the demolition of Building 36, there will be an increase in the number of large trucks on campus. Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling near these areas. Remember, at some time throughout the day, we all become pedestrians.
